PROJECT: Katelyn Convery (Solo Artist with a Band): Album Mixing/Mastering: “Miles Awake”
LISTEN:
The Echo Fund grant came through at a critical time for the mixing and mastering portion of my album. After funding the recording portion myself, my resources were depleted and I was about to pause the completion of the record until I could earn the money to finish. Thanks to the Echo Fund, I was able to finish the album without further delay and without taking on extra non-music-related work, and now "Miles Awake" lives on all streaming platforms.
Tovas Porvas

Over the last few years and after migrating to the US with my husband and young daughter, so many songs poured out of my heart, telling my story. The Echo Fund award gave me the possibility to open a space , focus on recording my album and share my voice and my music with the world. I was also able to work with my husband , daughter and other wonderful members of Portland‘s music community and enlist their talents in realizing my project.

MusicOregon has single-handedly changed my trajectory & what I thought possible as an artist. They’ve made me feel welcomed, loved, supported, and like they had my back in a city that was thousands of miles away from my hometown and an entirely opposite coast. Please don’t hesitate; apply and attend the meetings so we can all build the Portland music scene together.

I’m so grateful to have received the Echo Fund grant. The financial assistance allowed me more space and time to create what I feel is my best album to date. I was able to employ other hard-working, local musicians and engineers to help create something I feel so proud of sharing. This grant is such a rare opportunity and a necessary resource for many DIY artists; I have recommended applying for the Echo Fund to everyone I know.

Completing an album is not easy for a musician, and being granted the Echo Fund award lifted a tremendous weight off my shoulders. My album came to fruition without the financial stress of recording which is an amazing feeling. Thanks to MusicOregon I now have a debut album and I look forward to the fruits it may bear in the near future.
