The Echo Fund Opens August 4
The 2026 Echo Fund grant cycle opens Tuesday, August 4 at 9:00 am and closes Tuesday, September 8 at 5:00 pm. Awards will be announced the week of November 16.
This year, in partnership with the City of Portland's Office of Arts & Culture, we're putting $100,000 into the hands of Portland-based working musicians across every genre. Individual awards range from $1,000 to $5,000 and support creative, non-performance work: recording, mixing and mastering, promotion, distribution, gear, and more.
A few things are different this year:
Residency is verified. We check Portland residency through Portland Maps and your W-9 address. Run your address through the eligibility checker on the Echo Fund page before you start.
Project categories are gone. Instead of choosing a category, you'll find plain lists of what we can and can't fund. More room to describe your project in your own words.
A new festival and showcase exception. Costs tied to performing at a festival are usually off the table, but there's a limited exception this cycle.
2024 and 2025 Echo Fund grantees are not eligible to apply in the 2026 cycle.
The deadline is 5:00 pm, not midnight.
